Patreon Subscription and Download

RAD Basic is developed by the RAD Basic Team and funded through Patreon. A Patreon subscription is required to download and use RAD Basic.

Why Patreon?

Building a complete, compatible reimplementation of VB6 is a significant engineering effort. Patreon support allows the development team to dedicate more time to the project, accelerate progress toward full VB6 compatibility, and engage with the community directly.

By subscribing, you get access to early builds of the compiler and directly contribute to the project's continued development.

How to get access

  1. Visit the RAD Basic Patreon page.
  2. Choose a subscription tier that includes compiler access.
  3. Once subscribed, follow the instructions on Patreon to download the latest build.

Note: RAD Basic is currently in early beta. Builds are made available to Patreon subscribers before any public release. A general public download will be available once the compiler reaches a level of maturity suitable for real-world applications.

License editions

RAD Basic will be offered in multiple editions at different price points. Each edition targets a different level of use — from individual hobbyists to professional development teams.

For the current list of editions and their features, refer to the editions comparison table on the Patreon page.

Activating your license

After downloading, you need to load your license file into the RAD Basic IDE before compiling. See How to Load a License for step-by-step instructions.
